This interview was long time before. My memory is alredy blurry.
Louisville is a nice city, and the university hospital is a very big
There are 3 spots each year for the fellowship.
The interview started at 8:00am with introduction by PD. There were 8
pinterviewees. PD was trained in MD anderson and Moffit and somewhere
He is very knowlegeable and very nice. After the introduction, the
interviews began. Each of us was interviewed by 8 people. Some of them
clinical doctors, some of them are MD, PhD who only stay in lab and do
research, and one of them was a Chief fellow. All of them were very
The lab people and PD were very interested in my research experience,
those clinician didn't ask about my research.
We had lunch and afterwards, we had tours of the hospital and the
Fellows need to rotate in three hospitals, one is the university
one is a very good private hospital and the other is a VA hospital. In
first year, there are 4 months BMT rotation, one month of vacation,
year are inpatient service months. Calls are not too many, but I
many a year.
Rotations in second and third year are mostly research or clinics. Not
busy. Moonlight is allowed in each year. Each fellow can go to one
conference each year. Research is very much encouraged. They have a
building with very good facillities and research faculties.Brown
center is not NIH designated, but they are applying for designation.
Living expense is very reasonable. People are very nice. The city is
Indiana too. There are Chinese community, Chinese food, Grocery
no China town.
School is good.
