中秋晚上家宴招待老友, 酒好多喝了两杯. 送走客人后就溜达到这里了. 写了许多醉
话 (实话), 写完酒也醒了. 删了今重写.
To those who will go to interview and 2010 match.
I miss the last year group.
We had lots of CMGs last year who love to share their experience and
feelings with others. But this year, where are you?
Only Teabao 苦撑门面!
2. What specialty?
There is a long publication from NRMP:
Charting outcomes in the match 2009
Here is some interesting data
US senior FMG spots applicants M N M N
Path 533 708 315 21 164 298
Neuro 581 704 305 11 226 162
IM 5169 7697 2726 66 2113 2792
Ped 2471 2774 1674 33 593 474
Different people will have different interpretation.
Ped is easier compared to IM and Neuro.
IM definitely has more chances.
I saw lots of interviewee who didn’t know what they want. The classical
example is that a group of CMGs w/ Neuroscience PhD apply Neurology and
prelim IM. My opinion: if you were physician of Neurology in China, go ahead. Otherwise, you’d better think about it. Do you really like Neurology?
Everyone has his/her personal experience. You can’t change history. However, we have to face the reality. I met at least three CMGs w/ 99/99 or 99/99 w/PhD last year, didn’t match. The main reason is that they didn’t find a good specialty.
Most of the PS just copies of somebody. No story at all.
I wrote a lot regarding IV. Finally, only one word left: 天地有大, 美而不言.
道理大家都明白, 可这个环节many interviewee did so so or poor.
