I, in central NJ now, have been retired for a little more than 2 years, and
have been exploring where to settle down for good.
There are indeed many many nice places for white Americans to retire, but it
seems these places may not be suitable in a longer term for someone who was
born overseas and came from a different culture heritage.
You or I, as a Chinese American after retirement, just have too much time on
hand, and not enough friends to hang out with when you settle down in 95%
of these so called nice little towns in US.
Florida can be very boring after a while with no or few friends, certainly
you can made a white person as a normal friend but not as a close friend due
to deep but subtle cultural and hobby differences.
Cary NC may be a good place, there is a growing Asian population and it sits
on the I-95 corridor, reasonable housing price, good hospitals, several
college campuses nearby.
I am all ears as to where to settle down, and welcome any new idea.
